SecurityMetrics is approved by MasterCard as a National Voluntary Laboratory authorized to perform Point of Sale Terminal Security (PTS) Program evaluations (reference number MC.PTS.L.SEC.2007APR).
The MasterCard Point of Sale Terminal Security (PTS) Program requires security evaluations for all wireless and Internet Protocol (IP) enabled Point of Sale (POS) terminals. PTS approved POS terminals provide assurance to merchants and acquirers that their transactions are secure.
In 2005, MasterCard issued the following PTS Program deadlines:
SecurityMetrics' expertise in Point of Sale hardware
can provide many advantages for PCI merchant risk programs.
If your merchants are using older terminals with security
vulnerabilities or terminals known to store track data, then
SecurityMetrics can help you focus your PCI risk strategy.
SecurityMetrics will combine your existing PCI data with our PTS data to
dramatically reduce your PCI assessment risk while targeting
only select, high-risk merchants.
SecurityMetrics simplifies PTS evaluation and approval. After the initial evaluation report, we help you resolve any outstanding issues until your terminal hardware is approved. Once your terminals are secure and ready for approval, we will submit your evaluation report to MasterCard for approval. When MasterCard approves your terminal hardware, they will add it to their list of approved devices.
